Profile Information

About Me (for online profile)
I came to Austin from El Paso, TX in 2008 as a student at UT-Austin. During college, I was very active in a service fraternity and worked along with administrators in higher education. In spring 2012, I decided to continue to serve those that needed a good education through the Teach For America program in Las Vegas, NV where I taught 5th graders for two years. Since 2014, I’ve become an administrator in higher education, to link both the experiences in K-12 and the Higher Ed pipeline in making sure all students can graduate college.
Professional Description
I’m currently the Senior Academic and Research Advisor for the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost and Student Success Initiatives Division at The University of Texas at Austin. Specifically, I’m under a U.S. Dept. of Education First in the World Grant measuring the impact of proactive advising for first-generation and low-income students. The project is called “Monitoring Advising Analytics to Promote Success” and is part of the University Innovation Alliance, a consortium of higher education institutions including UT Austin, Ohio State, Arizona State, and others. I’ve been working within K-12 and Higher Education for the past 5 years.
