Join us for this month's YMBL Speaker Series with Shawn Livingston.

Shawn Livingston is a combat veteran who, after sustaining an injury while serving his country, found himself in the throes of heroin addiction. His journey from the battlefield to the depths of addiction and back again is chronicled in the documentary 100 Miles to Redemption, which provides a raw and unflinching look at his path to recovery.

Today, Shawn is a beacon of hope and resilience. Through sobriety he has transformed his life in remarkable ways. He is a decorated ultra runner, pushing his physical limits in grueling races that test his endurance and mental fortitude. His passion for fitness extends to the gym, where he hones his strength and discipline.

Shawn is also the host of the podcast, I Am Redemption. The podcast aims to give others a platform to share their own stories of redemption and triumph, fostering a sense of community and understanding among those who have faced similar struggles. In addition to his podcast, Shawn is deeply involved in the recovery community. He travels extensively, using his experiences to inspire others through motivational speaking. His story is one of resilience, determination, and the power of redemption. Shawn Livingston is a testament to the fact that no matter how far one falls, it’s never too late to rise again.

The event will happen atop the Chase Bank Tower at the Headliners Club on the 20th floor in the McBee room. This classy establishment has been home to Texas politicians and business leaders since 1955.

Doors open at 11:30am, where there will be 30 minutes of networking as people trickle in. You will seat yourself at noon after filling up your plate at the lunch buffet. Feel free to invite your friends! Parking is easy in the connected garage, and validated parking is just $5.

Shawn will talk about his career story, unique challenges in Austin, and his outlook on the future. It'll open up to a brief Q&A at the end, so come prepared with your questions!
