The YMBL (Young Men’s Business League) is kicking-off their CY2025 Speaker Series in partnership with AU40 (Austin Under 40) with renowned architect and 2004 AU40 winner, Juan Miro. The luncheon will be held at the Austin Central Library, known for its striking architecture, which includes a six-story atrium, butterfly garden, and rooftop porches. The library’s design is intended to be a model for water conservation and to create a community destination. Tickets are available to the general population while they last.

About Juan Miró, FAIA LEED AP
Born in Barcelona, Juan Miró received his architecture degree from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a Fulbright-funded Master’s degree from Yale, where he was awarded the William Edward Parsons Memorial Medal. Since joining the UT School of Architecture in 1997, he has received numerous accolades, including induction into UT’s Academy of Distinguished Teachers, the Texas Society of Architects’ highest teaching honors, and the UT Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award.
Miró’s design work through Miró Rivera Architects has garnered over 100 awards, including the 2023 Texas Medal of Arts Award, and has been featured in leading publications such as Architectural Record, Architectural Digest, and The New York Times. He is also recognized for leading a grassroots effort in 2020 to ban windowless bedrooms in Austin, influencing critical local building policy.
