Maestro Peter Bay to Headline June YMBL Speaker Series Luncheon


YMBL and Austin Symphony BATS join forces to host a special conversation with the Austin Symphony Orchestra’s longtime conductor


AUSTIN, TX — The Young Men’s Business League (YMBL), in coordination with the Austin Symphony BATS, is proud to announce its June Speaker Series luncheon featuring Maestro Peter Bay. The event will take place on Tuesday, June 10, from 11:30 AM to 1 PM in the Kodosky Donor Lounge at the Long Center for the Performing Arts, a bright, glass-enclosed venue with sweeping views of the Austin skyline.


Peter Bay, Music Director and Conductor of the Austin Symphony Orchestra since 1998, will share reflections on his musical journey, his leadership of the ASO, and his vision for Austin’s cultural future. With a career that spans decades and over 80 guest conducting appearances across major U.S. orchestras, Bay has left a lasting imprint on Austin’s arts scene and beyond.


This special luncheon brings together Austin’s business and arts communities for a meaningful conversation about music, leadership, and community impact.

About Maestro Peter Bay

Peter Bay has served as Music Director and Conductor of the Austin Symphony Orchestra for over 25 years, leading major performances including Beethoven’s complete symphonies and modern masterworks. He is also Principal Conductor for Ballet Austin. He has conducted for Austin Opera and dozens of symphonies across the U.S. Bay’s honors include first prize at the Baltimore Symphony Young Conductors Competition and induction into the Austin Arts Hall of Fame. His impact on Austin’s musical landscape continues through education, innovation, and artistic excellence.
